The Jaguar and Land Rover brands marked their official entry into the Indian market with the inauguration of a brand new showroom at Mumbai's Ceejay House in Worli.
Both brands are now part of Tata Motors, which also owns the showroom that will feature the cars that will go on sale from today. The Jaguar range in India comprises of the XF, XFR and the range topping 503 bhp, supercharged XKR. Jaguar also plans to bring the new XJ to India after the car's global launch.
The Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, and Range Rover Sport are the three models from Land Rover on sale in India. The V8 engined Range Rover models will include both petrol and diesel variants. AUTOCAR INDIA understands that the Freelander is being prepped for an Indian launch as well.
There will be no diesel engined Jaguars on sale as yet but Tata Motors has future plans to do so.
The Jaguar models currently on sale range from Rs 63 lakh, for the 5.0-litre V8 XF to Rs 92 lakh, for the XFR. The Land Rover models range from Rs 63 lakh, for the Discovery to Rs 89 lakh for the Range Rover (all mentioned prices ex-showroom Mumbai).
