Makers of the iconic scooter Vespa plans to start production in India as it plans to step-up its Asian operations. Piaggio recently inaugurated a Vespa manufacturing plant in Vietnam and the company was quoted, that in its strategic plan from 2009 to 2012 it would also start production in India.
The Italian scooter brand plans to invest around US $126 million to $140 million per year across the world by 2012, in a bid to increase its turnover by 20% by the next four years.
